Great Tubes - No Flats in Last 6 Months, Oct 14, 2007
Reviewer: Rick of Folsom, CA
Pros:
After 3 flats in 2 weeks while commuting to work, I switched to a combination of Slime Lite Smart Tubes and a set of flat resistant tires with a Kevlar belt. In over 1,000 miles of riding in the last 6 months I have had no flats and no problems with the tires or tubes. I run 700x28s @ 120 psi. The Lite Smart Tubes ride the same as a regular tube and are not significantly heavier. They are an excellent choice for commuters.
Cons:
The Presta valve Smart Tubes (currently) only come in a regular length Presta valve. If you have deep "V" rims like I do then airing the tube and checking pressure may require removal of the valve locknut or the addition of a valve extender.

I just submitted a review "proof that they work" but forgot to mark the rating - should have been 5 stars.
Please correct/updated.
Thanks.

proof that they work!, Aug 22, 2008

Not one of those "no flats in xxx months" stories - I have proof that they work!
I ride alot, was getting alot of flats, etc. so got new tires and Lite Slime tubes. To weeks later I got 2 thorns in my front tire - I pulled them out, heard the air hissing (obvious leaks) and saw the green slime in the thorn holes. I just started riding!
They held for the next 9 miles (mtn bike on dirt), got very low near the end of the ride. I pumped them back up to 45 psi and they are still holding. I NEVER HAD TO PATCH! Been holding for 2 weeks now - about 150 miles.
I'm sold, just bought another set of Slimers for my other bike.
Thanks!
